The beginning

Let's start with the beginning, like we should..

From the very first month of life, we started reading. At first I didn't have any books for kids, so we read whatever we had on hand, like the National Geographic magazine. It had bright pictures and good text, so we just sat and read. National Geographic Romania

I used to read him for hours, and he would just listen, look at the pics and enjoy the moment. I started buying books for children, and the first one we read was  The Gingerbread Boy

He loved the pictures, the tone of my voice reading to him,the rhymes and even though clearly he couldn't understand anything he still loved this.

I would read the story, then talk about what we saw in the pictures, point to all the objects and explain simply what they each were.
